REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
Are you ready to finally hang out with your Unbound community in person? APEX: Spark events are a series of safe, local gatherings in place of the national student event that was cancelled due to COVID-19.
APEX: Spark events will feature content from a handful of community experts, small group discussions, and recreational activities culminating in an elite community challenge that will connect to the theme of APEX 2021!
These events have been specifically designed to give you the opportunity to introduce your friends and family to the Unbound community. Your Unbound community. We know your local community often wonders about (and gets a little jealous of!) the fact that you always seem to be in a new state visiting other Unbounders. This fall, you can help them understand why.
Jasmine is an author and teacher from the great state of Texas who has written extensively about identity. She was also a member of the Unbound program!
We’re looking forward to learning from her experience as a teacher, mother, and member of a large family (8 younger siblings!). During her teaching career, Jasmine primarily worked with students Pre-K to 12th grade. Since then, she has appeared on The Gospel Coalition, Desiring God, Fathom Mag, Modern Reformation, and the RAANetwork.
Dave Runyon helps faith, business, and government leaders unite around common causes in the Denver metro area. He serves as the Executive Director of CityUnite and as a consultant for businesses who have a desire to make a positive impact in their communities.
Dave helped to start a neighboring movement in 2010 that has now spread to over 3,000 churches around the country. This experience prompted him to co-author “The Art of Neighboring,” which was published by Baker Books. He speaks locally and nationally encouraging leaders to collaborate for the good of their cities. Before founding CityUnite, Dave served as a pastor for ten years at Foothills Community Church and The Next Level Church. He graduated from Colorado State University where he studied history, economics, and education. Dave and his wife, Lauren, have four kids and do not plan to have any more.
Jonathan Brush is the President and CEO of Unbound, a homeschool graduate, and a homeschool dad of six. He worked for nine years as a Director of Admissions for a private, liberal arts college, and then spent over ten years working in non-traditional higher education.
Jonathan loves Unbound and Unbound students and dreams every single day about new ways to connect them to each other. He gets to work with the world’s best team and the most amazing student body in the history of the world (which is just as awesome as it sounds), and field questions about Rule 4 violations (ask an Unbound student to explain). Jonathan and his family make their home in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
We have designed this event with maximum flexibility in mind! Friday’s sessions and activities are optional. If you’re unable to join us that night, you can rest assured we’ve saved the very best parts for Saturday.

APEX: Spark is designed to help you connect your local communities with your Unbound communities. Families are encouraged to join us on Friday and Saturday nights.
Due to COVID-19, we have decided that the safest way to hold these events is to allow you to make your own housing reservations. Check out our hand-picked housing recommendations here!
We’ve worked with a team of medical advisors to design the safest live events possible by shortening the event, making Friday night optional, allowing for independent housing, and instituting extra cleaning protocols. We’ll be following local ordinances for each event and will be in touch with attendees regarding other restrictions for each event.
We can accommodate almost any allergy you might have. Send us an email at cabinet@beunbound.us and we’ll be happy to help you.
If you are planning to join us on Friday, plan to arrive between 5 and 6 PM. If you’re only coming for Saturday, plan to join us between 8:30 and 9 AM.
Got more questions? Email cabinet@beunbound.us and we'll get back to you!
